Cwm Ivy Cottage in the idyllic hamlet of Cwm Ivy, Llanmadoc is just stunning!
This two bedroom cottage is beautifully presented and whilst boasting modern conveniences it still retains the character of the old cottage. With amazing sea views of the Burry Estuary and views of the pine woods and nature reserve of Whiteford Burrows, it is only a 3/4 of a mile walk from the cottage to the beach. The cottage has direct access to the National Trust area of Whiteford, where you can walk peacefully through the pines, over dunes directly onto the huge sweeping beach where standing majestically in the middle of the sea is the last remaining cast iron lighthouse in Britain! Built in 1865, the historic Whiteford Lighthouse can be accessed on foot at low tide and its structure is just magnificent!
Cwm Ivy Cottage is ideally situated for those that just want to relax after a day of exploring glorious Gower. Whether you have walked the coastal path taking in the fabulous coastline of golden beaches or dramatic cliffs, to saltmarsh and sand dunes, to spotting coastal birds such as oystercatchers, lapwings and egrets, or whether you are surfing in nearby Llangennith or sea dipping in Blue pool ( a large natural rock pool situated just off the headland) Cwm Ivy Cottage is a base where it has it all!
The cottage is just a short stroll from Cwm Ivy Cafe and Crafts where the most delicious coffee, cakes and savoury treats will tempt you during your stay. It is also within walking distance of one of the best pubs in Gower, The Britannia Inn and also Llanmadoc Community Shop which as well as being a post office is also a treasure trove of homemade cakes, pasties, groceries and even serves amazing tea and coffee.
The amazing Worms Head and the award winning beaches of Rhossilli Bay and Llangennith can be seen as you walk along the coastal path towards Broughton or if you decide to walk to the top of the Bulwark (Iron Age Hill Fort) - the views are just amazing!
The cottage is an ideal place to explore Gower, whether by walking, driving, cycling or swimming.
